New Zealand's dicyandiamide scandal is still unfolding. Although the New Zealand government and other parties publicly ensure that New Zealand dairy products are safe, but Chinese consumers are still not relieved. In addition, Hong Kong recently introduced new restrictions on the purchase of milk powder, once again highlights the people's trust in food safety. Food safety has no bounds.  There are food safety problems in developing countries as well as in developed countries. On this issue, consumers should not regard food from developed countries or regions as safer than domestic food based on regional standards.

Repeated reports of food insecurity have left many consumers without the minimum confidence in Chinese-made food.  When it comes to choosing the same food, consumers seem to prefer "foreign food", even though foreign food is many times more expensive than domestic "local food".  As consumers should form more scientific discrimination standards.

Here, we should not only understand that food safety knows no boundaries, but also understand that the safety of our own food depends on the efforts of everyone. Consumers need to help build confidence in domestic food producers through their own choices. Domestic food producers should also make their own efforts to build consumers' confidence in Chinese food.
